Simon Vostre’s Books of Hours
A wonderful post over at Metafilter about Simon Vostre and the Books of Hours he published.
Vostre (fl. 1486-1518) was a Parisian printer based in the rue Neuve Notre Dame. This was a “new street” leading to the cathedral and was the centre of the Parisian book trade in much the same way that the area around St Paul’s was the locus of the trade in London.
